1 Start easy, your data stays local

Verve is a photography assistant that runs entirely on your iOS device. We love simplicity: all your photos, gear inventories, lighting schemes and shooting parameters are stored only on your phone or tablet. No account needed, nothing uploaded to the cloud. The moment you open Verve, you’re the sole owner.

• Lighting simulation / composition reference — every mock‑up, sketch and grid stays on device, never shared.
• Gear management & parameter logging — your lenses, bodies, lighting data live exclusively in a local database.

2 What you can do with Verve

Verve gives you the freedom of an all‑round assistant: plan lighting setups, sketch compositions, manage every piece of gear from film bodies to digital backs, and even record aperture, shutter speed and ISO for each successful shot. You can safely trust it with your creative ideas.

We encourage you to:

• 📸 build a digital profile for every lens you own;
• 💡 experiment with Rembrandt or butterfly light using Verve’s lighting simulator;
• 🗂️ archive exposure parameters by project and reuse them next time;
• ✍️ sketch composition guides on the fly — inspiration never fades.

3 Local first, total transparency

Every piece of gear you add, every f‑stop you record never leaves your device. Verve contains no analytics trackers, does not collect your usage habits. We believe a photographer’s workflow is private — like the undisturbed red light of a darkroom.

4 Respect the tool, respect others

Verve is built for independent photographers, and we hope you use it to document beautiful, thoughtful work. Please do not use Verve to store any illegal information or infringe on others’ rights. Even though your data stays on your phone, we always advocate kind use:

• do not use Verve to catalogue stolen gear;
• do not copy protected work using the composition reference feature;
• respect the craft behind every parameter — give credit when you share inspirations.

5 Smooth evolution, always there for you

Verve may become more powerful over time — we might add new calculation methods, support more gear templates. But no matter how we evolve, local‑first, privacy, minimalism are the core values that will never change. If one day you decide to stop using Verve, just remove the app from your home screen; all data will be removed according to iOS standard local app deletion (you can also manually back up your gear list via iTunes before deleting).

We will never remotely disable your access — it’s always your choice. Verve will stay quietly on your device, a faithful photo co‑pilot.
